The String Chickens String Band

Trina Clickner, David Russell, Mark Weeg and Fred Vieira play tunes together in and around Rochester NY as the "String Chickens". We play bluegrass, old-time, American, Scottish, Irish, and pretty much any old tune. Some newer ones, too. This is our e-roosting spot and a way to share things we like. The Rabbit Room - Honeoye Falls, NY

For many years, I've been drawn to the big, old, grey, stone and wood mill on route 65 in Honeoye Falls. Something called to me each and every time I drove past. This week, I finally succumbed to that eerie, magnetic pull and off we went.

On the last Wednesday evening of each month, The Rabbit Room in Honeyoe Falls hosts an Open Mic evening from 7:00 until 9:00. Three of the String Chickens gathered there this week - we enjoyed a GREAT meal, reveled in the Rabbit Room's wonderful, old fashioned, tavern feel, and we had a lot of fun meeting local folks. We enjoyed doing our music thing and then, Mark was a pianist for the impromptu jam band as the evening ended.
